The recipe for Black Walnut Cake?
My grandmother to a spice cake black walnut at Penn. Does anyone have the recipe.
Black Walnut Spice Cake Ingredients: 1 cup black walnuts 1 / 2 cup butter 2 cups firmly packed brown sugar 3 eggs, separated 3 cups all flour Indeed, divided 1 tablespoon baking powder 1 / 2 teaspoon salt 1 / 2 teaspoon ground cinnamon 1 / 2 teaspoon Coffee nutmeg 1 / 2 teaspoon cloves milk 3 / 4 cup butter, cinnamon, chopped walnuts Frosting Directions: Place 1 cup chopped walnuts in boiling water 3 to 5 minutes, drain and set aside. Cream shortening, gradually add sugar, beating well. Add egg yolks, beat well. Combine 2 3 / 4 cup flour, baking powder, salt and spices, mix well. Add flour mixture to cream mixture alternately with milk, beginning and ending with flour mixture. Mix well after each addition. Nueces dredge halibut in 1 / 4 cup flour, fold into pulp. Whisk egg whites (room temperature) until stiff peaks form, fold into batter. Pour into 3 greased and floured 8-inch square cake pans. Bake at 350 degrees for 25 to 30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in center wood comes out clean. Cool 10 minutes, remove layers from pans and cool completely. Spread Buttery Cinnamon Frosting between layers and on top and sides of cake. Garnish with additional chopped walnuts. Yield: one 3-Layer Cake. Buttery Cinnamon Frosting: 1 cup butter or margarine, softened 7 1 / 2 cups sifted powdered sugar, divided 1 1 / 4 c. tea cinnamon 1 / 8 tsp tea salt 1 / 4 cup + 1 tablespoon milk 2 1 / 2 c. tsp vanilla extract Cream butter in large bowl. Mix 2 cups powdered sugar, cinnamon and salt, gradually add butter, beating with an electric mixer until light and fluffy. Add remaining 5 1 / 2 cups powdered sugar alternately with milk, beating until smooth. Add vanilla, beat well. Yield: enough for a 3-Layer Cake Black Walnut Fancy Cake past Missouri State Fair winner 1 / 2 cup butter, softened 1 / 2 cup shortening 2 cups sugar 5 eggs, separated 1 cup butter 1 c. Tea. soda 2 cups flour 1 tbsp Tea. vanilla 1 1 / 2 cup Hammons Black WALNUT 1 to 3 oz shredded coconut 1 / 2 c. Can. Cream butter, cream of tartar and shortening. Gradually add sugar, beating until consistency light and fluffy and sugar is dissolved. Add egg yolks and beat well. Mix soda and butter and stir until soda is dissolved. Add flour alternately with the cream mixture with buttermilk mixture, beginning and ending with the flour. Add vanilla, nuts and coconut, black, and mix well. Beat the egg whites, at room temperature with cream of tartar until firm, then add mass. Pour batter into 3 greased and floured 9-inch pans. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes or until cake tests made. Cool in pan for 10 minutes, then remove from the boiler and let cool. Black Ice Cream butter nuts with icing. Black Walnut Sheet Cake 2 cups sugar 2 cups flour 1 tbsp Tea. soda 1 / 2 tsp Tea. salt 2 sticks margarine 4 T. cocoa 1 cup water 1 / 2 cup butter 2 eggs Sift dry ingredients in a bowl. Melt margarine and mix with the cocoa and water. Porter rapid boil and pour over dry ingredients. Add butter and eggs. Cook in pan with the edge at 350 degrees for 15 to 20 minutes. ———————————— ————– —————————— Icing Sheet Cake 1 stick margarine 6 T. butter 1 cup Hammons Black Walnut 4 T. cocoa £ 1 box powdered sugar Melt margarine, cocoa and milk. Carry to boil and add the powdered sugar and black walnut. Spread the cake still warm if you can not give me a piece, How about 10 points?
