acrylic fabrics stick?

I have about Two Dozen paintings in acrylic on canvas and canvas panels stretch much I been held regularly in a portfolio. I took them all this morning and to my horror, they were caught together! Some of a paper-fronts have been made in concrete painted. I managed to separate them and to feel, but I'm afraid to put them in my portfolio. Always let it dry completely for several days before storing it, and have a lacquer finish on them. Why stick together? Can I include in prevents them from sticking? I thought of waxed paper, but that will not take for permanent storage …
