MDF with veneer Wood Veneer or plywood?
I am absolutely new to woodworking, I recently started working on a new entertainment center for me. I made the frame and the drawers of poplar, now I have to decide what to use for all exterior surfaces. I want to use cherry veneers / plywood and stain all exterior surfaces to mahogany. My questions are: 1) What is the best Optional: – MDF with cherry veneer on top of itself or – Category A cons-cherry veneer 2) What better spot to the end of the previous two? Plz recommend the best solutions for …..
As this is an entertainment center, I guess it will take a little weight …. Thus I lean more towards the cons-plated. MDF will provide a smooth surface plates, and can be painted with the actual preparation work, but makes technical special carpentry, and / or property, because there is a screw very well in the head "or" avant-garde. I like to use poplar plywood for my projects that need a material base (approximately 3 / 4 "thick and can be stained, painted, laminated or coated). It is also easy noted, dents, scratches, etc., before reaching the upper protection applied, so handle with care. Whether you use MDF or layers at the base, use a sheet of high-consideration of a cut to clean the teeth sheet. Prefer 60-80 number of teeth on my tablesaw blades for projects like this. Ive built furniture and cabinets over the years, lol LOT, both professional, and for me.
