Lagerstroemia indica is my tree dying?

I just bought a large crape myrtle, and California pepper tree in a bucket of 15 liters of a local producer, the trees are very large, as are the 2.5 "diameter trunk. when I bought the trees, the man had cut a pair of large tree roots growing on the floor of the cube. specifically told me that there is no guarantee that Becos tree at this time large trees were in the truck so I took her home. A week has passed, both the tree looks now dying leaves curled and dry looking, and lose a pile of leaves. I have no idea how long they are dying or in shock? Is it transplanted to the ground? advice.Thank you please! P / S: I had learned my lesson and I am punished for being greedy get a big tree, a small 15 gal. : ~ ((

I would make the soil immediately. They are in shock. Making soil and water the heck out of them. Do not expect to recover much of this year. And, although they may look dead in the fall / winter, continue to water them. They will probably return next spring.
