Where can I find wool felt for me to make a poncho weather resistant?
I am not a poncho thing, but not as a fleece I want to be near open flames occasionally. So I thought that wool felt would be a good option … but I have no idea where find a good selection of wool felt fabric for clothing or clothing. I think a lot of arts and crafts web sites, but I want more thicker, the quality of felt. Anyone who has used wool felt for this purpose, and when I can get the fabric? I tried everything, of course, Local fabric stores, they are thin type, in small squares, crafts. Or lose the batting to be felt, but I need felt wool. Of course I "Google" this before using this forum, and I tried all the sites included in these responses. I do not see as proposed which can be used as clothing. So, does anyone know if a certain name or type of wool felt for winter clothing and jackets, and where I can find this kind of wool felt for the purchase?
Wool is an excellent idea! While natural fibers is much safer to have around the flame and the wool has the advantage of maintaining their properties to keep the heat even when wet. To make a poncho without sewing, you want to buy a thick wool of at least 54-60 inches. I gave you a link to a very different exercise Store reputation types of wool. The two guys you want, depending on weight, are called wool flannel or wool lining. wool lining is twice as heavy as wool flannel. Both are Very Soft and lying. On the additional sealing, you can spray with adhesive tape. I prefer the cape wool, myself. Is under a slight drizzle and, even without the tape. When the yarn store, make sure to watch the weight of it. The heavier wool hot and will be more waterproof. The layer of wool weighs about 12 ounces per foot, while wool flannel weighs only six ounces per foot. I suggest that, for a sample of material before committing to buy anything. Good luck!
