Knife art / sculpture / utility and survival …?

I would say: "What a good knife?" But I do not speak no knives I think more precise than a knife, camping and survival, but not something too Rambo able to cut the bamboo, sculpture and shaping tree branches, something that could handle some decent features carved, and some detail work wood, maybe even cut some copper son quite easily … and I suppose a certain type of carbon sheet? and pleasant to use … benchmade.com seem to have good things – are they a good brand in general? I prefer a sheet and a sheet of Swing streetlegal so you can take absolutely everywhere … I think a fixed blade would be nice … but it must be street legal and super bonus for you available in major national retailers such as REI, so I can try before … purchase Benchmade 551S is giving me a bit of an erection …
