Red Cedar Wood
Best type of wood for bridges?
Recently, I asked to obtain estimates of contractors to build me a bridge. I something nice, easy maintenance and long term. They said that the pressure-treated wood chips and if you actually get a splinter can get an infection, not to mention the ugly green dye chemistry of wood. Thus, a contractor recommended Cedro – I did some research and I read that the Red Cedar is great, but the contractor would use forged white cedar. The other contractor recommends mahogany. Not sure I can allow myself or any timber artificial in my budget. Any suggestions out there? Correction – it is "tight" Nudo cedar he would not recommend "white"
