Question on making soy candles scented with Essential Oils?
I want to start making soy candles, and all supplies to start. All that I can not find information, is the smell my candles with pure essential oils, no perfume sold by suppliers. I know that essential oils have a flashpoint, but I am confused about what a flash point which must remain above the candle burn safely. I do not want a candle that will explode! I will use the Ecosoya wax. Thank you!
If you bought oil from which you purchased your chances wax was purchased Fragrance Oil not Essential Oil. The flash point refers wax. When the melting wax is necessary to have a thermometer to measure temperature. You do not go beyond the flash point because it can exploit what should be hot enough to get there. I mean my wax to 165 degrees to melt and add my fragrance oil stain, then let cool to 145 degrees to pour into my containers. For this reason, you need a thermometer that can tell how hot wax. There is also a pot with a temp. meter. I use a pot that is ready to Wal-Mart for $ 20. Heat the wax slowly. If you flavorings essential oil can evaporate if it gets so hot that it do not put hot wax. Hope this helps. For instructions go to the candle www.candletech.com
